Our culture now produces more and more artifacts in digital form and people are tend to use them rather than artifacts in physical form. Because the technology is widely available for the digital artifacts, they can be access without any geographical and time barriers, and also could easily search for what needed. The mission of this project is to help preserve the text artifacts now in the public domain and make available freely for the ordinary Sinhala people. We basically aim on translating the public domain books written in the Ceylon era that describe about our heritage but not yet admired by the ordinary Sinhala community.
We wish to collaborate with the people who are interested to join with this community project to share the effort on behalf of the future generations. The work would be protected under Community Common licence. Your motivation and guidance is warmly welcome.

අප සංස්කෘතිය කෙමෙන් කෙමෙන් ඩිජිටල් ආකෘතියේ මානවකෘති නිර්මාණයහි ලා වැඩි නැඹුරුවක් දක්වයි. මන්දයත් දැන් ඩිජිටල් මානවකෘති නිර්මාණය සඳහා වන තාක්ෂණය ඉතා පහසුවෙන් ලබා ගත හැකි නිසාය. බොහෝ පුද්ගලයින් වැඩි ආශාවක් දක්වන්නේ ද මෙවන් නිර්මාණ පරිහරණය කිරීමටයි. එයට කාලය හා ස්ථානය බාදාවක් නොවේ. එමෙන්ම ඉතා පහසුවෙන් අවශ්‍ය කරන සෙවීම ද ඉන් කල හැක. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේ අරමුණ වන්නේ පැරණි ග්‍රන්ථ (books in public domain) සංරක්ෂණය හා පහසුවෙන් මෙම දැනුම සාමාන්‍ය මහජනයා හට ලබා ගැනීමට ඇති හැකියාව පුළුල් කිරීමයි. මෙහිදී මූලික ඉලක්කය වන්නේ බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය යුගයේදී ප්‍රකාශයට පත්වුණු ආදි ලංකාව (Ceylon) සහ අප උරුමයන් පිළිබඳ ලියවුනු, නමුත් තවම සිංහල ජන සමාජය අතර ප්‍රකට නොවූ ග්‍රන්ථයන් පරිවර්තනය කිරීම සඳහා ය.
